Club Walks

The Club organises a day walk every two weeks (on the Sunday) throughout the entire year to various locations in Munster including Kerry, Cork and Waterford. There are a number of Walk Grades, from Introductory (which is for those who would like to try out the sport) to a Long Walk (for those who are very fit), with three in-between grades for varying levels of fitness and ability, the emphasis being on participation and enjoyment.

We meet on Sunday morning at 8:45 a.m., so that we can leave Cork at 9:00 a.m. sharp. For safety, numbers on walks are limited, so it is essential that you register your name with the Walk Organiser. This should be done on the preceding Wednesday night in "Counihan's".

Each passenger sharing a car is asked to contribute €10 for petrol to the driver.

Prior to the commencement of a walk you are advised to alert the Walk Leader of any medical condition you have, for example, asthma, diabetes etc..

New members are always welcome; however, after one walk, non-members cannot be permitted.

Note: Walkers participate at their own risk.

Bank Holiday Weekends

On most of the major Bank Holiday Weekends the Club organises a "weekend away", to such places as The Beara Peninsula, Wicklow, and Galway (Oughterard). We usually travel on the Friday and return on the Monday, staying in a hostel.
